How does the Give as you Live Card work?

The Give as you Live Card allows you to raise 2% in free funds for your favourite charity when you buy a new card.

The card can be used in-store at over 120 popular stores including Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Boots, Debenhams and Argos

Purchase the card for yourself or as a thoughtful gift.

The scheme is managed by Give as you Live with the card distribution and payment process handled by our partner, SVM Global Limited, who are a world-leading reseller and distributor of corporate gift cards, e-codes and gift vouchers.

Are there any charges for signing up?

There is no extra charge for shopping using a store card with our retailers. The donation is made for free by Give as you Live to your chosen charity.

Postage costs will be included upon checkout.

Is there a cost to the charity?

The Give as you Live store cards scheme is totally FREE for charities, as are the marketing materials we make available.

How much will my Give as you Live Card raise for my charity?

The Give as you Live Card will raise 2% for your chosen charity.

Where can I shop with my store card?

There are over 55,000 stores nationwide you can shop with - including Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Boots, Debenhams and Argos.

How do I use the card as a payment method?

In-store: simply tell the cashier how much is on your Give as you Live Card and they will swipe for this amount. If your purchase total is of a higher value than what is on your card, then you can pay the rest via cash or card.

Online: Unfortunately this is not currently possible, as most websites do not accept multiple payment methods.

How much can I load on the card?

The minimum load amount is £10 and the maximum load amount is £400.

I am unable to pay with a credit card or Amex card. Why is this?

All personal credit card payment methods and Amex have been removed from the site. Please make your payment using a debit card.

I am trying to place an order and I am receiving a “card type not supported” error when entering my card number. Why is this?

If you are using a credit card, credit cards have been blocked on this site. Please make your payment with a debit card instead.

If you are using a debit card, certain issuing banks sometimes use 16 digit card numbers which were previously associated with credit cards. As we have blocked credit cards on this website, if our system is identifying your payment method as a credit card, you will not be able to proceed. Please use an alternative debit card, or contact our Customer Care team who will be able to help you.

I've lost my Give as you Live Card, what is the procedure?

To report your card lost/stolen please call our card provider SVM Global immediately and report the card lost - you can do this via phone on 01709 303 107 or via email at customercare@svmglobal.com.

My card didn't work when I tried to spend it in-store.

There could be several reasons why this may have happened. Please check:

— That you know your balance, and it is more than or equal to the amount you're trying to spend.

— The Give as you Live Card hasn't expired (check the Valid Thru date on the front of the card).

— The retailer's card terminal is working correctly; they may have a fault causing your card to be declined.

How do I top-up or add extra funds to my Give as you Live Card?

Unfortunately it is not currently possible to top your card with additional funds, as the Give as you Live Card is a single-load card.
